Meet the Maker

Hi, I’m Jodie Nielsen, the designer and maker behind Jodie Lee Jewellery.

I live on South Australia’s beautiful Yorke Peninsula and am a proud single mum to five beautiful children. My jewellery journey began in 2021 while I was pregnant with my youngest child. What started as a creative outlet during that time of my life quickly became a passion, and eventually grew into the business I run today as a self taught jewellery designer, metalsmith and gem cutter.

Building a handmade jewellery business while raising a young family has been both challenging and incredibly rewarding. Creating allows me to express my creativity, support my family, and stay connected to the things that inspire me most... nature, beauty, craftsmanship, and meaningful design.

Every piece is designed and handcrafted by me in my home studio, where I transform precious metals and carefully chosen gemstones into jewellery that is made to be worn, loved, and treasured for years to come.

My Style & Materials

My jewellery is inspired by nature, ancient symbols, and the beauty found in imperfection. I’m drawn to organic forms, molten textures and gemstones with unique character and individuality.

My style sits somewhere between rustic and refined... luxurious yet earthy, elegant yet perfectly imperfect. I love creating pieces that feel as though they could have been discovered rather than made; treasures shaped by time, story, and the natural world.

I work with solid gold and sterling silver, often incorporating Australian opals, sapphires, and other carefully selected gemstones. Most of my designs are one of a kind, allowing the unique qualities of each stone to guide the creative process.

Whenever possible, I choose ethically sourced materials and suppliers who share my values of responsible craftsmanship and sustainability. From the metals I work with to the gemstones I select, I believe beautiful jewellery should be created with care and consideration.

Whether bold and textured or simple and understated, every piece is handcrafted with intention and designed to become a meaningful part of the wearer’s story.

Behind the Bench

Every piece of jewellery begins as an idea, a sketch, a stone, or a moment of inspiration gathered from the natural world.

In recent years, I’ve begun cutting many of my own gemstones, adding another layer of creativity and connection to my work. From selecting rough material to shaping, polishing, and setting the finished stone, I love being involved in as much of the process as possible.

As a small independent maker, every order is handled personally by me... from design and production through to photography, website design/maintenance, finishing touches and packaging. It’s a slower, more intentional way of creating, and one that allows me to focus on quality, craftsmanship, and meaningful details.

I like to share some behind the scenes processes on my social media... be sure to follow along @jodieleejewellery.

Thank you for supporting handmade and being part of this journey.
